Guiding Star

Lost I have been,
alone in the dark;
without a star to guide my ship.
A sudden burst of warm light
blinded me one day;
as I began to float aimlessly
not knowing where to anchor
but you were there
waiting patiently.
Firm and strong against all waves
was your love;
and it illuminated
the route to your heart
where I found sanctuary.
