Abandoned Soul

When you left, you took me with you
Everything I had inside
A few steps out the door and I'd lost it all
No more laughter or smiles
No more joy and fun
Not even the despair and agony
Not the pain in losing everything I loved
Just darkness
A cold empty heart
It was me and you against the world
Now im fighting this war on my own
And the worst part is that I'm fighting myself
I'm fighting the hurt and pain you left for me to bear alone
I'm fighting the urge to love you regardless
I want to hate you
Yet I love you with all my heart and soul
In the blink of an eye even that was gone
Now I have nothing
I am empty and blank
I see nothing because I cannot look into your loving eyes
I hear nothing because your voice is not there as the music in my ears
I feel nothing because I do not feel your arms around me nor your love
I taste nothing because your warm soft lips aren't anywhere near mine
I am a walking corpse
A blank page in a sketchbook full of beautiful artwork
The light bulb in my life burned out and it's oh so cold
I am completely numb now
It's like the fiery blood in me dried up and was replaced with Novacaine
So what do I do now?
Do I cry and cry and cry some more?
No, can't do that I'm already drowning in my own tears
Do I take away my own life?
Tried that, but what's the point of killing a dead creature?
So I sit here and wait
Waiting hoping and praying that maybe I won't feel so alone
Waiting for you to realize how precious was the life you took away
Waiting for you to try and understand my pain
Waiting for you to regret
But that's a dead-end too
You could never understand
You could never fully feel my pain
And you could never give back the beautiful life you stole
All that's left is a cold lonely numb empty abandoned soul
