Natasha Almeida Poems

Over time I try to arrange
The jigsaw of life.
I try to put together jumbled pieces.
I look back- remember,
...

Speak to me words of sin
Of lust
Of longing
Of pleasure
...

And as the dust rose with all the walking feet
The sounds of carousels & giant wheels - deafening
The evening sky darkened
The carnival lit up with sounds unheard of & coloured lights
...

A new door opens
Eyes greet me: smiling and sad.
I have to make a choice,
Move ahead, or step back.

Jigsaw

Over time I try to arrange
The jigsaw of life.
I try to put together jumbled pieces.
I look back- remember,
Reminisce.
Some memories fade,
Some remain vivid.
I count the number of marks, indents, scars,
Left on my physical and emotional being
I smile
When I think of them,
They who picked me up when I fell.
A tear drop is soothing now.
I invite change
And if change is inevitable,
The jigsaw will be re-arranged.
