Nicholas McDonough Poems

(one)
Love brings war
Love breeds hate
Love births peace
...

Descending, falling secretly,
Thou dark, unholy creature- bring'st thou
hope or fear?
Life, cold death, kindness, hope ever-
...

In a fairy tale with no
happy ending,
wondering why they don't know
thoughts I'm sending,
...

I gave up on finding you
because I nolonger think you exist
I've done all I could think to do
so now I wait fir the mist
...

(we all want to get ahead)
(we all need something fed)
We all want what's ours at the end of the rainbow~
...

emotional push over the edge
feeling better left alone
the world keeps turning black
purify me
...

I offer mine and take her hand...
cast the circle and bless this land
As our spirits fight this awful war
we invoke the power of the directions four
...

You sins eat at you from the inside out
Oh what a tangled web you have entwined
Once the game has came about.
...

Compassion
Communication
Salvation
Elation
...

Children should never play
with things that come their way
they do not understand
destiny takes their hand
...

Give up the game
for you were never brave
I bury your name
in forbidden shame
...

The memories fade
The past disappears
as one day ends, another begins
you've stolen my heart
...

I've learned my lesson though it hurt my pride.
This wounded memory wears like a scar.
They say time will heal
but they don't know how I feel.
...

Turn your mind
into a window
and the listened will lead, who follow,
I believe
...

Mysteriously divided
one dreaming the other
slipping into blackened rooms;
movements slowed by the horror.
...

Graceful in dialectic
tentative interest
The hurried breathless pleading
memory of loveliness pierces me,
...

Knowing what was, I nolonger sleep
I've seen through all eyes, understanding runs deep
...

My heartbeat slows...
the beat of my heart
slows it's rhythm
...

With knowledge
comes power
...

Inept certainty of reason
conflicts with the perplex
uni-formal existence of
balance between
...
