Try to make me happy,

We dream as kids,
What we want to become.
Firefighter, Doctor, Astronaut,
Our dreams taking flight.

The pain radiates through me,
Sharp and clear and a smile breaks
Across my lips.
The pain stings and the tears come.

I know that you can't understand,
That all you see is dissapointment.
Those words you threw at me,
Those shouts at me that always came.

They call us young
And they think that we can't decide.
We're too young to realize
What the world is like.
