Oluwatomiwo Akinyemi Poems

The lady before me
Waltzes through my lane
The air I breathe
Mixes with her scent
...

today the sun seem not to shine
for some reasons the heart seem to bleed
we wonder where all the smiles departed
a promise of wonders
...

Like a disappearing act
I stumbled in this space
Hovering like a bird
Seeking that settlement
...

Waiting waitng
For the all-mighty godot
godot godot I ask myself
Where are you?
...

i met a dame
On a maine
Waltz through my lane
Pretty as fine clay
...

Male and female
Boys and girls
Tall and short
Light and dark
...

I am treated as though am a puppet
Controlled and programmed
To only do the mistresses bidding
...

She came
like a breath of air
Made her impacts
...

9.

Love is not a dream
Neither is it an illusion
It is a rushing fountain
That flames the heart
...

What I want
Is a driven force
That controls sane city
Emptiness drives its devoid
...

I live with a faceless ghost
It controls width and space
It is an illusory idea to kill
Without its domineering presence
...

Do not fall in love tonight
I warn you
Do not lead yourself astray
On a night like this
...

Every day I set out
In search of boundless happiness
The more I get close
The farther it looks
...

The sound of the word
Frightens me
The thought of it
Drains me
...

I found myself in this utopia
Enclosed in this width and space
Why I got here is beneath me
The purpose of my being is illusory
...

When I wake
With you by my side
I know I have it all
Because all desire you
...

The Mind Of A Confused Lover

The lady before me
Waltzes through my lane
The air I breathe
Mixes with her scent
My exist-tense
Is fashioned around her

Day and night
I pawn around her lane
To smell her scent
She oozes an appeal
That douses my medulla oblongata

What will I not give
To be with this princess
I want more
But I fear she wants less
The vultures envelope her
Like a conclave
She wants to break free

I memorized my scripts
Dug out from the crypt
Alas the rule book fails
I stepped up my gear
To be in the clear

But am still in the dark
What to say is beyond me
What to do is unknown to me
She has the key
She pulls the strings
A tale of two cities
Just my luck
