Broken Down Heart

I've never felt so broken down
So lost and in despair
I gave my love to a man
Who did not seem to care

I drove my car to and fro
Baked bread, cheescake and pies
I gave my pearls to a swine
Who did not know how to share

My heart is blue and purple
Bleeding from within
No thankfulness or gratitude
For the things that I did for him

In the future I will keep
My pearls on the shelf
I will splurge and splendor
And make life fun for myself
