Out with my family complete
Just seeing over my father's shoulder
Being 8 or 9 years no older

The journey had lasted several years
Whilst the crew slept together with no fear
Through space they accelerated
To an earth like planet they anticipated

Just teach me a piece of reality
Here and now is something to see
Just take it one day at a time
And it will be so very fine

A glass of champagne to soothe your soul
As I sway to the sweet soft rock and roll
In my arms I feel your heartbeat
So sweet I remember it's so complete

Abraham Lincoln called it The Last Full Measure
When your life is given with no thought for yourself whatsoever
Whether it be in war or an emergency so grave
That others run away and it's left to the brave
...

Sit down and tell me your stories
Of times and places in your memories
Who were the people you loved
And your places to sit under stars up above
...

Does God wake up in the morning and say
Why did I create them for another day
When the strife makes it so questionable
PAnd they make such a mess of it all
...

The shot and shell falls down
And the soldiers hugs the ground
They call to one another clear
Are you safe now the battle's near
...

Christmas time comes again
Shared together with relatives and friends
Reminding us of times gone past
Of happiness to forever last
...

I look back remembering when
There were places and people I knew well then
They wander through my memories
Seemingly not wanting to release and be free
...
