Lovesick Lethargy

imagery imitates my imagination with self-destructive disdain
the only happiness i feel comes from how unhappiness brings me pain
close your eyes, drink it up, nothing beautiful exists
I'm left rethinking my thought bubbles
stranded soaking here on memory lane
I theorize how appreciation sprouts as a flower
frightened fidgeting figures crawling up my eccentric stocky frame
you've changed me, put things in perspective
you've changed me, old selves all transforming in awe
you've changed me into a pessimistic pretender
waiting for my Layla Al-Aamiriya.
you put me into a self-conscious selective solitude
and nothing can balance my chemicals
not the weight of my lethargic loss,
and so i stand at dead ends I've crossed
each memory is a battle I've fought
it all leads to an familiar end
im a passenger on a twisted road, with disappointment at every turn
terrible telepathic truths screeching round every bend
i dont want to hear it or ever see that word
i just want to forget that something real could have happened
that something beautiful ever occurred
it's sick of it all.
