Pete Shilling Poems

As a child,
We Were taught,
Not to give,
Ourselves a thought,
...

Wake up, it’s morning,
Let out a sigh,
Pretend it’s ok,
But know it’s a lie,
...

Imagine

Imagine the woods,
Without a tree,
...

Nervous feelings,
Insecure,
Why or when,
We can't be sure,

Survival

As a child,
We Were taught,
Not to give,
Ourselves a thought,
And not to show,
Love...devotion,
Or any other,
'Weak' emotion,
Such a crazy,
Misconception,
Foolish...poor,
Interpretation,
The weakness is in hate,
In greed,
Planted like,
A poisoned seed,
Love gives us strength,
And feeds our soul,
It makes us one,
It keeps us whole,
A new beginning,
This dawn's arrival,
The only way,
For mans survival.
