I never knew how important it was to do what I wanted to do.
Not foolish things, like fly to the moon, but avoiding what made me feel blue.
It was always 'somebody else's fault, ' that I was not happy enough
I never knew that my happiness was not going to come from ' stuff. '

I realized, just now, that I have a smile on my face.
In some way, unexplainable, my heavy burden seems
lifted, lighter, unimportant.
Are you the one who is praying for me?

Learn from the river. It flows.
It does not ever stop or stand still.
It would only be a puddle, if it stopped.
It would evaporate, dry up, cease to be, if it fell in love with a scene, staying there, never to move again.

At night we would whisper, brother and I, that we simply couldn't wait
For the coming days to fast fly by; til that breath holding, happy date
When, while we were sleeping, a little fat man in fur trimmed coat and boots,
Would sneak into our house and leave gifts so grand; then we'd rise in the morning with hoots!

Breezes blow and change the world.
Raindrops fall and wear away the hills.
Snow comes quietly; no rage, nor pain in those icy shapes.
And all is changed, is changed and not the same.
