واطول أشواقي إلى الوادي

واطول أشواقي إلى الوادي
وادي الهوى والحسن والشعر

ملهى صباي ومهد ميلادي
وعسى يكون بحضنه قبري

والكرم يكسوه سنى الشفق
ألوانه ويشع بالعنب

فترى به في صفرة الورق
عسلاً بلؤلؤةٍ على ذهب

والماء تشعر حين تشربه
بقوىً تدب به إلى جسدك

ليس الندى والفجر يسكبه
للزهر أعذب منه في كبدك

وإلى الربى والليل كللها
بسكونه المملوء بالسحر

ومشى الهوى فيها فظللها
بمواكب الأحلام والشعر

والنهر ما أحلاه ينتقل
في حضن حصباء من الدرر

تهوي عليه الشهب تغتسل
في الليل والأنوار في السحر

واهاً على الماضي وأيامه
ما كان أسعدها وأقصرها

فرت فرار لذيذ أحلامه
لم تبق لي إلا تذكرها

أيام أنسٍ ما أحيلاها
وأحب صورتها إلى فكري

قلبي يذوب جوىً لذكراها
في أضلعي ومدامعي تجري
