أرى هيكلَ الأيامُ، مشيَّداً


أرى هيكلَ الأيامُ، مشيَّداً
ولا بدَّ أنْ يأتي على أُسِّهِ الهَدْمُ

فيصبحَ ما قد شيدَّ الله، والورى
خراباً، كأنَّ الكلُّ في أمسهِ وهمُ

فقل لي: ما جّدوى َ الحياة ِ وكربِها
وتلك التي تزوي، وتلك التي تنمو؟

«وفوْجٍ، تغذِّيه الحياة ُ لِبَانَها
وفوجٍ، يُرى تَحْتَ التُّرابِ لَهُ رَدْمُ؟

وعقلٍ من الأضواء، في رأس نابغ
وعقلٍ من الظّلماء، يحملهُ فدمُ؟

وأفئدة حسرَ، تذوب كآبة
وأفئدة ٍ، سكرى ، يِرفُّ لها النّجمُ؟

لِتعْسِ الوَرى ، شاءَ الإلهُ وجودَهم
فكانَ لَهُمْ جهلٌ، وكانَ لَهُمْ فهمُ
