we were line-up like school children
boarding the bus, the conductor is
collecting tickets and fare, those
that are not ready they go back
i saw some of them just walk away
maybe wait for next bus for free ride

fare is not that much, cheaper than amtrak
one of the women with a child doesn't have
enough so the conductor threatens to leave her
she's begging for mercy, one gentlemen step-up
i saw her ring, he is one of the traveller from east
i get closer to him, i whisper thanks to his ears
