042910f Slipping Away

birds clinging upside down
squirrels clowning all around
ferrets standing on their mound
lizards teasing on the ground

eyes lurking behind the bush
curious people we came across
picking berries; chasing goose
very peaceful; everybody knows

puffy smoke from village
means i'm being page
i haven't caught anything
besides you the whole evening

what would i say when ask
stumble on you by the tall grass
setting traps for the muskrats
'chief i have this beautiful catch'
