051710b Pouring Rain On South I-95

rooster tail crushing my windshield
i'm watching faint red light feet away
in a midst of pouring rain; unblinking
my silent prayers unwinding to its peak
i'm holding my breath with anticipation
like sudden brake application; i worry

it's been like that through carolinas
from morning to very late afternoon
i must go; i can't stop at rest areas
i don't like to catch darkness alone
near savannah a car hit tree; bounce
broken hood, headlights nobody hurt
