053. Beatitude Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

053. Beatitude

Rating: 5.0

Once we spent hours together
By the yellow sea.
We watched the beauty
Of sun setting from the sea beach
Just before twilight.

Now I try to meet you again vainly
As you are far away presently.
Perhaps you've crossed
The seas and oceans, plains and deserts
Loving the sweet fragrance of Arabia.

We wrote our names on the olive leaves
And enjoyed the moments of beatitude.
You and the leaves went far away -
Beyond my sight, beyond my reach
As time and tide do.
