1~ Beautiful...Maybe? Poem by Shelley L Baxter

1~ Beautiful...Maybe?

Rating: 4.8

The water is still and tranquil
making you feel free and at peace.
There is a hint of a wave from a minnow,
yet the quiet is almost deafening.
To the naked ear and eye,
the scene is inviting and pleasant,
you might even want to jump in and explore
the cool blue pool in a clothesless suit.
Wade in, let the ripples your body creates surround you.
Don't forget this piece of heaven on earth
that entices you can be dangerous.
Thus, while the beauty draws you into it's depth,
know that even though its calm now~
if you underestimate its power...it can drown you.

There isn't much more powerful than the symbolism of water...nicely done. Coach

Oh yes these large bodies of water can be very inviting, one must be careful, they have the abillity to hypnotize and call to you. I know I experience that feeling everytime I visit Niagara Falls, the feeling is tremendous and I have a very difficult time standing back but I realize I must not allow this magnetic pull to take me. Your poem starts with a gentle, soothing feeling and then gives a very important message to the reader. Thank you Shelley for this wonderful treasure. Melvina
