1. Ever Changing, But Everlasting

  The pretty skirts have been put away;
No longer do they swirl in open air,
No, they would not be shown again,
Not until summer comes next year.

The bathing suits are washed clean,
And legs have been hidden once again.
Sands of souls have left the beaches;
Their number counted no more than ten.

The rabbits no longer hop around;
They go to their secreted winter homes;
The location of which no one knows;
A mystery none short of Mr. Holmes

The trees shed their luscious clothes;
Green fades to golden blankets laid down,
Whilst she now stands in her skin,
Her lover looks on with a gentle frown.

Warm winds now begin to blow cold,
Constantly sneezing as if with flu;
This becoming the most heard sound:
The birds’ chirp replaced with ‘Achoo! ’

The sun’s warmth wanes into tomorrow,
With lovers’ beds sharing yesterdays’ heat;
As times spent out is now spend indoors;
Life is given birth beneath jumbled sheets.

Soon each man’s weight increases by ten,
And fat men would be appreciated,
Kisses would make even noses glow red,
And to giving all would be obligated.

From the ground man would make man;
Making him covered in tiny feathers,
-That last only as long as nature wills-
Each one; a thread holding us together.

Next, tulips would then peep from the earth,
Whilst rabbits begin to hatch from eggs,
Cherry blossoms would give glorious bloom,
Whilst safety from decay; Snowman begs.

Roses and Genistras soon give their fruit;
Red, white, pink, all shades of the rainbow:
In bulbs, and hands; both the big and small;
Their flawless beauty the flowers would show.

As grassy lawns cover the ground in green,
Ducks and ducklings swim on baby lakes;
Many families bicycle to follow suit,
-In this joyous memory all partakes.

Lovers kiss in shadow of the setting sun:
Leslie and his Angel-love walk down the aisle;
Gated by palm trees and under the stars,
Sharing their ‘I dos’, a kiss and, a smile…

This poem was very enjoyable for me to read.
It has this happy, perky feeling, if you will, to it.
I like it a lot.
I was going to comment how it sounds so professional and how beautifully written the rhymes were, then I saw the copyright at the end, as assumed it must have been published elsewhere.

None-the-less great write. Give yourself a 10!

Please read my poems at www.artisticfever.blogspot.com when time permits.

Leslie, I borrow from Keats to comment on this poem,

Four seasons fill the measure of the year;
There are four seasons in the mind of man:
He has his lusty Spring, when fancy clear
Takes in all beauty with an easy span:

and for your summer:

He has his Summer, when luxuriously
Spring's honey'd cud of youthful thought he loves
To ruminate, and by such dreaming high
Is nearest unto heaven:

May your autumn and winter be far behind.
God bless you both.

The knot is tied between these two souls,
Leslie together with his darling spouse,
With ten kids, two cats and a dog,
Blessed by the Lord in their little house.

Congratulations to you two Regards Alf
