1 Wish

if i had 1 wish
i'd wish for you
for you to love
me too

if i had 1 dream
it would be with you
for you to dream of
me too

if i had only 1 day
i'd spend it with you
all alone,
just us two

i had 1 day
i spent with you

i had 1 dream
was all about you

i have 1 heart
which i gave to you

you broke it
in two

my wishes and dreams
never come true
so it seems
i'm wasting my time with you

Sandy, what an increditable write. This is a write from the heart. It is. It makes be think of the 'relationship recently I thought I had.' But when you have true love you wish for all these things you wrote about and for that which is not real is the latter part you mentioned...wasting your time and broken dreams....for I know that only too well now.

    Beautiful write... (Report) Reply

I feel your heartache in the words of this poem. Love is so beautiful when it goes smoothly, and so hurtful when one is being ignored or it seems we are getting no wheres. I wish you the best obtaining your dream. Thank you for reading one of my poems. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
