آه، لو أنك تبقى للأبد كما أنت الآن، لكن، أيها الحبيب
إنك لا تملك نفسك إلا بمقدار حياتك في هذه الدنيا
فعليك أن تعد نفسك لتواجه هذه النهاية المقبلة
وتخلع شكلك العذب على إنسان آخر
هكذا ينبغي لهذا الحسن الذي تحمله فترة من الزمن
ألا ينتهي أبدا
فتحيا بذلك مرة أخرى، بعدما تفنى حياتك
عندما تحمل ذريتك الجميلة شكلك الجميل
من الذي يدع مثل هذا الكيان البديع يهوى إلى الفناء
بينما الحياة الزوجية الشريفة يمكنها الحفاظ عليه
ضد الثورات العاصفة في أيام الشتاء
والغضب المجدب وبرودة الموت الأبدي؟
ألا شيء سوى التبديد والضياع أيها الحبيب الغالي
لقد كان لك أب، فليكن لك ابن يناديك بالمثل
