23 Poem by Tori Bachue

Forever you'll be with me
Taking part of my memories, a dark past
To forget, to neglect and deny
It's easier that way, to live a lie
But I want it to be full, with my truth
Don't want to wear a mask, or rather a whole suit
The past is the past, you made me this way
My story and sadness will sway
My life and future by fate
I want to fly but think it's too late
However, memories fade
Within time I won't remember this date
So I'll walk, run and fly
Passing crossroads of destiny
Make decisions of my own
Yes, I'll move on, survive
This hurt won't make me die
Still, a part of me
Won't see
Will stay here
With apathy near
Out of the blue
With you
