#250 The Man, Leader And Servant Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#250 The Man, Leader And Servant

Who I am and who I’ve been
Are as different as day and night.
May who I am and who I’ll be
Be as different as dark and light:

May I walk with my head up
As I live from day to day.
May I be pleasing to my Father
In all I do and say.

May I smile through my heartaches
And be made well again.
May I be courageous and faithful
And endure to the end.

May I be slow to anger
And quick to forgive.
May I promote peace and love
As long as I live.

May I set a good example
In every choice I make.
May I lend a helping hand
For my brother’s sake.

May I be a loving husband
To my deserving wife.
May I be a caring father
In my childrens’ life.

May I be the man, leader and servant
That Thou would have me be.
This is the sincere prayer
I offer unto to Thee.
