.3. The Darkness Poem by David Threadgold

.3. The Darkness

When days are long and dreary
Those winter nights extended
The drizzle settles on the frost
Black ice is now intended

A chill gets to my bony bits
That move but make a crack
I try to warm them up a bit
Whilst sitting in the black

I wait again for daybreak
To make my darkness lighter
Please take away the dreary nights
And make my world much brighter
