Giant koi in many colours
Under lilies weaving
Just below the surface
A rippled wake their leaving

Round and round they travel
In a circuit of the pond
A huge light coloured monster
In the sunlight almost blond

Multi coloured youngsters
Chase black finned orange friends
In between the pond weed
And round the rocky bends

Bright sunlight on the water
Mirror back a starring face
As I just sit in wonder
Watching giants rule this place
