.5. Frosty Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Frosty

Rating: 5.0

Outside our window stands a man
A carrot for his nose
His eyes two lumps of jet black coal
A scarf my sister chose

He looks beyond the fishpond
To the hills where sledges go
Grassed muddy type of body
Each foot with just one toe

We rolled him round the garden
Collecting what we passed
Built him stout with neck less head
Then sat him up at last

A cloth cap from the cupboard
Atop our snow man’s head
The coal came from the coal house
With a broom from out the shed

He stood there for a few days
Until there came a thaw
Now only grass and leaves are left
Where snow man stood before

I love this poem, David. It reminds me of my brother and me in the winter building our snowmen. Such fun it was and I do miss him but have SO many wonderful memories. Thank you for bringing some of them back to me. A '10! ' for sure! Warm Wishes, Marilyn
