.5. What A Christmas Poem by David Threadgold

.5. What A Christmas

Rating: 5.0

Outside the snow was falling
All lights were on the tree
The sherry and the mince pies out
For Santa not for me

A roaring fire was crackling
The Yule log burned so bright
Four stockings from the mantle hung
All named to get things right

Requests were duly noted
From letters kids had written
Young Joey wanted action man
A doll left Sally smitten

Roller blades with flashing lights
For Bobbies faster mile
A smart new coat with fur on top
Take’s Milly out in style

Another year the shopping done
Man and wife could not do better
Having searched for oh so many weeks
Making Christmas match each letter
