.5. Who Cares Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Who Cares

Rating: 5.0

Browning leaves found all around
Wilting fast lain on the ground
None surviving but the weeds
No one’s tending to their needs

Mindless killing not the first
All could see they died of thirst
The garden centres irrigation
Left switched off caused dehydration

Thousands sold but thousands lost
Not a care how much they cost
What a shame they cannot sell
Shrivelled crisp and lost their smell

Who’s to blame for this disaster?
Could they not have watered faster?
No one said they didn’t know
That simple water helps plants grow

Once a picture full of bloom
To brighten up your garden room
Cards in pots showed caring tips
Now with the plants they fill up skips

an unusual poem but one I really enjoyed. Your mind drifted off the path of normal and let us down a garden path of imagination. Well done, you kept your flowers of words watered. Well done; -)
