.5. Winging It Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Winging It

A pigeon and a parrot
Went out to dine one day
The parrot ate the pigeon’s food
But pigeon had to pay

The pigeon ordered coffee
While parrot ordered tea
The parrot drank the coffee too
And pigeon didn’t see

Both had a fresh fruit salad
Pigeon fancied pear
The parrot ate it all again
And didn’t seem to care

At last they got the cheese board
With Stilton and some Brie
The parrot went and scoffed the lot
Again it all came free

Outside the pigeon had a word
Polly wanted cracker
So pigeon punched him in the eye
That turned a good deal blacker
