60 Seconds To Life Poem by JJ Lockhart

60 Seconds To Life

Rating: 3.5

The clock ticks
Each second goes by
Slower than the next
And you wonder
When the clock will stop
As if it is your own time bomb
Just waiting to detonate
When will it be your time?
Tick tock, tick tock
Memories start racing in your mind
Looking back to all the good and bad times
And you can’t help but think
Where did all the good times go?
Why is every moment,
That could one day form a memory,
Bad?
Tick tock, tick tock
You don’t know what to do anymore
Do you wait for your inevitable destruction?
You can’t
You have to put it in the back of your mind
Or it will drive you crazy
You have to learn to live
Tick tock, tick tock
Your time is precious here
You yourself are precious
But you have to believe that
For it to be true
Tick tock, tick tock
The world isn’t out to get you
Although it may always seem that way
But if you can find a way to cope
You will survive
Tick tock, tick tock
Those uphill battles you seem to struggle with everyday
Will no longer be so steep
The wind that always knocks you down
Will become a light breeze
And one day
The clock will become
Just another memory
