A Back Bencher's Mind Poem by Nikhil Sharma

A Back Bencher's Mind

In he went with his hypocritical mind,
did he find it or did it shine?
and thats him with his back bencher's mind!

There he goes on his seat after removing some dust,
and adjusted that bench which was enduring rust.

Show me your notebook he whispered,
draw diagram of light, 'dispersed'.

asked his fellow,
'My half page is filled, is that enough?
or should I write some more in rough,
so this teacher could see what actually is bluff.'

In he went with his hypocritical mind,
did he find it or did it shine?
and thats him with his back bencher's mind!

Einstein, Newton and Tesla were not in his head,
Their laws and theories made his brain almost dead.

He mumbled his own words,
like different animals travelling in herds.

Pretending to study,
texting being steady,
escaping from jeopardy,
after browsing fb already,
makes the room edgy.
But believe me its a tough
task buddy!

In he went with his hypocritical mind,
did he find it or did it shine?
and thats him with his back bencher's mind!

Look down lad those fishy eyes are chasing you
just prevent'em,
you have not been noting anything so what
just pretend then.

Well teachers they come they go he is
just busy doing his job.
Sticking to his old throne
laughing at all fused mob.

He is as unpredictable as he can be,
his mind is still like statue of liberty,

And number of times he had denied,
sitting in front doesnt reflect his side.

He never cheats unless its the exam time,
saving all his weapons to commit this 'claassroom crime'.

In he went with his hypocritical mind,
did he find it or did it shine?
and thats him with his back bencher's mind!

Yes he is mystic and cagey,
liable to be called freakin crazy,
but dont buzz around him and dont interfere,
badass inside him doesnt want to share.

Pouring serenity in his mind through his headset
not illusion,
at the moment when he drank himself
into oblivion.

Is he being falsely accused of
preoccupying?
No, darkness doesnt vanish after the arrival
of sun-shining.

He told me, he had to hurry
and wanted to get out of debt,
which was raving on his soul
before he left.
No wonder he just left!
