A Bad Dream Poem by Brian Ely

A Bad Dream

Slipping in deep
A chasm
Filled with lost sheep
A scorched staff
Lays beside their bones
The shepherd
Given to eating flesh
Not trying to get them home
The stairway collapses
A ghostly scream
I awaken
Was it all a dream?
