A Beautiful Song Poem by Conúil Duffy

A Beautiful Song

I stood there in complete suprise,
she was looking at me,
into my eyes.
I couldn't understand what I could see.

She leaned in towards me.
I didn't know,
could this be real?
It mustn't be so.

Then we embraced.
This couldn't be true.
This couldn't be the case,
but this dream'll do.

Then she pulled away,
she smiled at me,
she looked contented and gay.
My heart was free.

This must be planned.
This must be a trick.
I couldn't understand
why it was me she'd pick.

We hugged and kissed
all night long.
I didn't know what i'd missed,
but my heart sang a beautiful song.
