A BIRD UPON A CROSS
I noticed a bird
upon a cross
the verticle of
a naked cross
above my local
church
Was it surveying
the winter scene
or reflecting upon
life
it's origins and
destiny
and all that lies
between
Could it reflect
does it have what
we term 'intellect'
or has it purely instinct
and if so what does it
lack compared to us
Is it better off I wonder
