A Brand New Page Poem by Ayla Tulip

A Brand New Page

If someone there behind the sun
Once had me live my life all over,
I'd have invited everyone
To celebrate and not stayed sober.
I wouldn't worry 'bout the dirt,
When lighting my small fire-place.
I would have listened to the birds
And found beauty in each face.
I would have watched the clouds float by
And sunbeams tickling my toes.
I would have smelt each cooking pie!
(If not - then why one needs a nose?)
I would have made a little store
Of my love letters and blue jeans.
I would have talked to father more -
No matter what, he's in my genes.
I would have sat on that green grass
Without fear of snakes or bugs.
I would have cared for you and us,
Not for what someone thinks or does.
I would have said 'I'm sorry' more.
I would have never been in rage.
I would have looked into the core,
If I had got that brand new page!
