A Broken Girl's Prayer Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

A Broken Girl's Prayer

Rating: 5.0

Break down these walls
Deeply engraved
Inside my heart...

Break them down,
One by one,
So I may want
To be loved
By You, Oh God...

Break them down,
One by one,
So I will see
That You are
The ONLY One
That matters...

Break them down,
One by one,
So I will see
I don't have to
Look to others
To tell me I'm beautiful.

Break them down,
One by one,
So I will want
To let all the Love
You have for me
Inside my heart.

Break them down,
One by one,
So I won't be
Scared of
Standing up for
What is right
And not care
What others think.

Break them down,
One by one,
So I will know
I don't need
Make-up or
To compromise at all
In order to feel worthy
And loved...

Break them down,
One by one,
So I will never
Tire of doing
What is right,
But I will persist,
Even when it gets lonely,
Even when I'm scared to death,
Even when I don't know how it could be worse,
Help me to reach for You,
O God....
So I may do as You will.

And even though,
I will fall and slip
From Your Perfect Standard,
Your LOVING Arms
Are Open Wide
And always ready to forgive.
