A Broken Telescope Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

A Broken Telescope

Rating: 5.0

You were the telescope through which I saw
My entire vision of the universe.
Through this window I gossiped with a multitude of stars
That spangled across the night sky and enticed me from afar.
Many a summer days I dreamt a billion happy thoughts
And those dreams to me rich bonanza brought,
But was it my thought that churned out dreams
Or was it my dreams that hauled thoughts with its gleam?
I, for one, do admit that I can't answer this question for sure
But of one thing let me here without any qualm assure.

My telescope lies broken and my precious visions are all gone
In this vast universe I am left all alone without the hope of a dawn.
