A Broken Vase

I broke a vase
on Christmas Day
sitting on a floor cushion
pulling at flowers
bound up with string

nobody told me off
because of my
stupidity -
this family who have learned
the language of laughter

graced me with
gentle smiles
while the chef said
'leave it to me'
and cleared up the splinters

lovely poem, mirrors the spirit of christmas and family and the insignificance of a broken vase in light of this worlds true disasters.

A well-centred family with a well-centred poem to match, wonderful lessons in this one, such as how to react after a simple mistake etc..etc..etc...

The warmth and gentleness of this poem shines through - just like the smiles that surround you in this picture of togetherness, where the 'language of laughter' echoes an important message. justine xx
