A Casio At Coreys Poem by Peter Elliott

A Casio At Coreys

You brought your Casio to Coreys again
The first time
Since I escaped your net
Or rather the net that is you
It's most likely you had no design
To trap, to ensnare

You selected 'Stand by Me'
From your sheet music
And little by little
I took the plunge
And eased myself back
Into collaboration

Singing 'Darling, darling
Stand
By me
O stand'
With all the innocence I could muster

Harmoniously joining my energies with yours
Singing to your accompaniment
Playing chords on guitar
To your keyboard
Playing guitar
While you sang.

'That was fun, ' you exclaimed
And it was.
