A Chance Poem by Amanda Larsen

A Chance

Black.
Drowing in black.

I silent the whisper escaping my lips...
The cold is a blanket
The shadows are home
The familiar taste of a tear in my soul...

Trapped inside my head
I swim to the sun
Too scared to breathe,
Too scared to run...

And one more time I bleed freedome I don't deserve
Pain's the one thing that's real
Blood to wash out the dirt

Like the note of a song I forgot that I heard
Your eyes are the life I think I once had...
Your heart beats a language I don't understand.

Save me! I cry
Pull me up to the dry!
Show me a smile
and teach me to fly...

But if you walk to an easier land...
Forget I exist
And I will understand...
