A Chance To Explain
One more moment,
One more touch,
One more conversation,
One more blood rush.
My over-thinking is driving me insane,
Toxic memories; rotting my brain.
I need to hug you one more time,
I really wish I could call you mine.
The chance to apologise,
To tell you – “none of it was lies.”
To get my point across,
To let you know, it’s not just about lust.
The chance to explain is all I want,
My words, to you did haunt.
It may have sounded sinister, but that’s not true,
I’d never do anything at all to hurt you.
Call me stupid,
Call me dumb,
But I can’t help the way I feel,
And that’s – that I truly – do love you.
