A Change Of The Season Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

A Change Of The Season

Raindrops are falling from high in the sky
Reminds me of sorrow from days gone by
The sky is so Grey and the wind cuts like a knife
Finding your way through this abyss they call life
Learning and seeking from every mistake
Hoping someone, somewhere will cut you a break
The leaves change their color and fall to the ground
No one questions their changes, they don't make a sound
They know that a leaf can change and it will
But they think that people cannot fit that bill
We often sit back not taking a risk
Not realizing life is short and ends so brisk
We take chances on happiness day in and day out
Realizing we took the easy way out
Thinking happiness should not and won't cause us pain
The clearing of the storm, comes after the rain
Not stopping to think about what could've been
By taking chances on the unknown and unseen
What's right isn't easy and what's easy is not right
We'd rather give up, than put up a fight
Today I'll make my stand and fight til the end
The pain and the hurt I'll feel for my friend
I'll endure it all in the end you will see
What's not worth it to you, is so worth it to me
For I am a lover and I will not quit
When the going gets tough, I will not submit
Your love and your friendship, the ultimate prize
When I get knocked down I surely will rise
As you see I'm not the man from before
For I sought the key & He unlocked the door
Like the leaves change on the trees in fall
For you I'd give everything and risk losing it all
