A Cheater And A Thief Poem by David Harris

A Cheater And A Thief

A Cheater And A Thief

I came across a site
where someone had taken
my best-loved poem,
shortened the title
to try to disguise the fact,
and then claimed it as his own
to try to make people believe
he was something
that he is clearly not.
One day he will realise
what he has done wrong
and in doing so
will end up being branded
as a cheater and a thief.

It's definitely not a nice thing to do, I believe it's done by those who wish they had the talent and instead of exploring it, they steal it. I think it's most unfair to have your work stolen, I also think it's unfair to remove someone's name from a poem and then present that poem to someone without the name of the poet. I know someone who did this and it really bothers me, that I couldn't find out the name of the person that truly wrote that poem. I'm sure that happens a lot, poets write the poem, people use the words and don't care one bit for the writer, that's just wrong. Melvina

Plagiarism is a form of flattery of a kind, they wish they had that talent, that you put so lovingly in each line, they can only copy art, but to Create it now that takes a poets heart, thiefs and cheats don't have a heart... Andy 10

Those who plagiarize are the worst cheaters and thieves…immorally degraded souls… A realistic gesture………
