A CHILD CALLING
Can anybody hear me?
Does anybody care?
Will anybody help me see?
If God is truly there
If You are real and Heaven's true
If hell's eternal flame
What can I say or ever do?
To rid myself of shame
I've read or heard of Jesus Christ
But did He really live?
Was He The Lamb You sacrificed
Eternal life to give
If You are there please tell me straight
If I may hear Your voice
I'll surely not procrastinate
Making Your Way my choice
I'll give my heart into Your hands
I'll give my soul as well
I'll try obeying Your commands
To free myself from hell
Some say if I would call Your name
Say Jesus is Your Son
He'll bear for me the total blame
And pardon all I've done
I know I've practiced selfish things
Uttered most evil words
Yet could I still get angel wings
To live and fly like birds
Perhaps it sounds a little strange
Perhaps I could be wrong
But surely God can things arrange
For me to join His throng

«A thought torment …», but read with interest …
I love your poems and how the narrator questions their beliefs but yet seem to accept God in the end. Keep writing
