A Child Is Born Poem by Reason A. Poteet

A Child Is Born

sestet, AABBC(c)

Noisy days, hectic nights,
babe comes home, rest takes flight.
Mom's tears, baby's cries all seem to blend,
Dad's pacing, wond'ring if will it end?
Sleep is heavenly peace.
Sleep is heavenly peace.

Nights of noise, days of heck
Bottles and bottoms to check.
Bag is now packed and it weighs a ton.
Life is so different; can this be fun?
Parenthood marks new birth.
Parenthood marks new birth.

Noisy nights, hectic days!
trav'ling from place to place.
New parents beam in camera shots,
thoughts of the future tie them in knots.
A son, their joy is born!
A son, their joy is born!

Nightly heck, daily noise.
Such the life - life with boys.
Their Christmas baby welcomed with glee,
visions and wonderings - what he will be?
A son, their hope lies here!
A son, their hope lies here!
