A Children Sun Poem by Jordan Wall

A Children Sun

There was this defining color
banded but flourishing,
when I closed my eyes with my blanket,
when I saw these earthen plumes
fevered and frail
and looked upon my hand for the same blush
but glowing
they never sang of fire
never shuddered once
or shook
and around them,
framed like a rafters web,
the clothing of my guise
bended and ballooned
as my heart whistled through my nostrils
and my chest warmed.

I knew the window changed the light
but I didn't know the light changed everything.

And there were docents of shape,
as I could feel my iris quill and paint
the sun of many
adrift like the popping of heights
and brimming with a silly,
tardy soul.

Only remembered.
