A Coastal Summer Morning Poem by Francis Duggan

A Coastal Summer Morning

Rating: 1.0

How graceful to watch in the calm Summer sky
Above the white beach the silver gulls fly
And in the warm morning air in the park by the sea
The familiar voice of the dainty pee wee
The flutes of the magpies so pleasant to hear
The birds who do sing every day of the year
In their breeding Season in late Winter to mid Spring they sing in the night
A marvel of Nature a thing of delight
People out walking their dogs in the early morning sun
Whilst others for exercise along the beach run
And small groups of walkers young women their hair blowing in the breeze
Seem happy and carefree and with their life at ease
And the young birds are chirping on the sunlit trees
On a beautiful morning of around twenty degrees.
