A Cotton Life Poem by Kyle Shield Laster

A Cotton Life

Rating: 2.7

Perhaps if God had sewn
My Life together with angora,
I would live a life like silk and butter
And I'd not milk meanings from the mutter
Of my lips' failed attempts
To romanticize the swelling hives
Of cotton boll weevils
In my cotton Gutter.
