A Cycle Of Love And Life Poem by Biff McGuire

A Cycle Of Love And Life

I must be happy
somehow life’s harmony,
it's ups and downs complete
a cycle unknown to me

I must smile again,
Knowing there is comfort
in the future, and
Satisfaction in the past

Life is created, but
never controlled
Love creates life, and so
must nurture it until

The cycle is complete, or
interrupted by the unforeseen
Promises, naive interpretations
of loves contract

It comes and so
must go sometimes
Out of our hands
Out of our minds?

When trinkets replace
tender touch
When assumption of roles
replace true feelings

Is the cycle complete?
or merely broken,
awaiting repair
Loves' glue, to start

Again---

A great expression of the complexity of life; very good.
