Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

A Dark Side

You asked
if I had
a dark side.

Most of my life
has been lived
on the dark side.

But I always
believed in the power
and cosmic beauty
of solar energy
radiant vibrant stellar
life giving light.

You asked
if I had
a dark side.

Most of my life
has been lived
on the dark side.

Yet my heart and soul were
no part of the madness
the blackness the void
except as reluctant captive
resisting the entombing life
depleting molasses dark side.

Another great write, I have been on the dark side numerous times both in life and writing. The key is can you climb out and balance it with a good side. Love your choice of words and it just flows.10+ (Report) Reply

I'm drawn to the originality of this poem and I relate strongly to it since I've lived on both sides of that same equator. Very nice poem indeed.10/10 (Report) Reply

The sudden switch from dark tales to all great light tales is splendidly done. Great work (Report) Reply

Most of us have both a dark and a light side. But like God is light and Satan is darkness we must always take the side of God and light. A very good poem, I really enjoyed. Lynn (Report) Reply

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
